James Manning – Vice-Chair
Jim has worked in Local Government for 38 years working in administrative and management positions for the first 20 years. He is a Chartered Secretary and Administrator by profession and also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management.
For the past 18 years he has been working in the Community Safety field and is currently Head of Community Safety with Ipswich Borough Council. A national Community Safety Advisor to the Local Government Association, Jim is recognised as having particular expertise in the Closed Circuit TV field with many national and international presentations to his credit. Jim is one of the original members of the multi agency team dealing with on-street prostitution in Ipswich. He works closely with the Home Office and DCSF regionally and nationally on various Community Safety issues.
He has been on the Board of Anglia Care Trust for over ten years and sits on the Finance Committee. He is also a member of Ipswich Crime Reduction Panel and a Governor of a local High School where he chairs the Health Safety and Security Committee and serves on other committees.
