The primary purpose of the role is to improve domestic abuse interventions within healthcare settings across Suffolk to support a diverse patient population and in particular vulnerable groups who face the most barriers in disclosing abuse or accessing services, such as disabled women, minority ethnic groups, and migrant women and children.

The role of the Whole Health Domestic Abuse Trainer will be to upskill our health colleagues, starting with community outreach posts such as Community Nurses. They will create training material and work alongside our NHS colleagues and Local Authority to ensure a multi agency approach that complements our county’s champion’s program and NHS policies. They will then deliver the training, offering advice to health colleagues and recording the impact of the training.
