Drug and Alcohol Recovery Outreach Officer (Rough Sleeping Drug Alcohol Treatment Project)
Would you like to take on a role where you are able to make a difference?
This project will deliver a targeted outreach and support programme delivered through our
Drug and Alcohol Recovery Outreach Service to improve substance misuse outcomes for
individuals experiencing, or at risk of, rough sleeping in East Suffolk. It will focus on early
engagement, rapid access to treatment and enhanced tenancy sustainment for vulnerable
individuals, particularly those with drug and alcohol dependencies and dual diagnosis
needs.
The project will provide assertive outreach and fast-tracked access into recovery services,
alongside intensive in-reach support for individuals placed in emergency accommodation.
This will include harm reduction, relapse prevention and practical support to help individuals
stabilise and sustain placements.
Officers have a varied case load, allowing them to build trusting relationships with service
users and support them on their journey to recovery, by addressing some of the
underpinning issues. Support to individuals is intense throughout and engagement with
partner agencies is vital to achieving the outcomes of the project. The group prefer to engage
with non-statutory services and those who come to them in the form of an outreach service.
More information can be found in the Supporting Information, Role Description and Person Specification below.
Anglia Care Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults and young people, is an equal opportunities employer which values diversity and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We reserve the right to close a vacancy prior to the deadline so early applications are encouraged.
Interviews will be taking place at our Head Office in Martlesham Heath, Suffolk (free parking available)
